Touchwork of Weston Massage Therapy

Kirk Nelson, BCTMB, PNMT

Kirk Nelson, President of Touchwork of Weston Massage Therapy, is a licensed massage therapist in Missouri and Colorado, plus Overland Park and Leawood in Kansas, and has been a full-time therapist since 1998. He is also past president of the Missouri Chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and is board-certified by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) - the highest professional credential in the field. Kirk is also a certified precision neuromuscular therapist, a distinction held by less than 200 therapists in the nation. He specializes in custom-designed massage sessions for relaxation and/or pain relief and is recognized as a premier provider of on-site massage therapy programs for conventions, special events, sporting events, and the workplace.

Kirk was a national trainer for the Massage Emergency Response Team (MERT) and also the former State Director for the Missouri Sports Massage Team (MSMT). MERT was dedicated to providing massage to emergency responders at disaster sites, and Kirk received the Disaster Service Award from the Virginia Department of Health for his efforts at the Pentagon following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The MSMT received the 1998 and 2003 AMTA National Award for Most Outstanding Sports Massage Team and was involved with many local and statewide events such as the MS 150 Bike Ride and the Kansas City Marathon. They worked with athletes to help improve their performance, decrease their risk of injury and speed up their recovery time.

As part of his massage practice, Kirk enjoys speaking to groups about massage therapy and related health topics whenever possible and is currently a MO state-licensed mentor and an approved continuing education provider for the NCBTMB. Over the years, he has taught at various national and state conventions within the massage industry and has presented seminars for numerous corporations and civic groups. One of Kirk's main goals is to empower others by sharing his knowledge and skills for the purpose of enhancing their ability to become more self-aware and more personally involved in their own wellness. It's the difference between working on a client and working with a client.
